Westin Hotel opens in Cupples Station
The Westin St. Louis hotel opened Thursday as one of the renovation projects in the Cupples Station redevelopment. The $75 million hotel, at the corner of Eighth and Clark streets, is managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. and features 257 guest rooms, 9,000 square feet of meeting space and the Clark Street Grill restaurant.   more »

Construction starts on 224-room Westin St. Louis
Construction has began on the 224-room Westin St. Louis, scheduled to open Sept. 1, 2000. The $55 million hotel is a key element of the $300 million redevelopment of downtown St. Louis, which also includes a combination of office, retail, hotel, housing and parking facilities. The Westin St. Louis will occupy three turn-of-the-century warehouses and ensure the preservation of the complex, built between 1894 - 1917.   more »

Cupples Sta. Becomes Catalyst for Downtown Redevelopment
Today, at the turn of a new century, Richard Baron, president and CEO of McCormack Baron & Associates, Inc., broke ground on three of the historic buildings for the Westin St. Louis hotel.
